Dissecting the 2009-2010 Basketball Roster

June 24, 2009

I’ve put together a little excel spreadsheet that analyzing this upcoming UK basketball team.  When you look at the talent on this team you will see why so many analysts have us picked as a preseason top 10 team.  If you were to look at last year’s team and analyze the average star ranking compared to this year’s team you would see a huge improvement when it comes to talent.   This year’s team star rating is 4.25 compared to last years team of 3.45.  4.25 was actually the average star rating for North Carolina’s 2008-2009 National Championship team.  Not sure we have the experience that the 2008-2009 UNC team had, but we sure have the talent!

Calipari Did Nothing Wrong!

May 29, 2009

I’m so sick and tired of all the writers and even previous UK alumni coming out and condemning the hire of Cal at UK. This whole situation has nothing to do with Calipari! I wish someone could please tell me how you are supposed to know that a kid cheated on his SAT?? HOW?? It is completely and utterly ridiculous! Us UK fans need to do all we can to set those making all thees wild accusations straight.  If you take a step back for just a minute and think about the situation,  Coach Calipari recruited a kid who received an SAT score that was APPROVED score by their governing council! How much more legit can you get than that? How is that the fault of the University?  If anyone is at fault here it would be the individual who administered the SAT exam!

Here is an must read article from the Sporting News that explains what was said:

Guys. It’s over! John Wall has decided to commit to the University of Kentucky! It all went down last night as he felt that UK was the right place for him. UK on list of 11 of top 13 uncommited players for 2010

May 13, 2009

The new rivals ranking for top 2010 recruits have been released and UK is listed by 11 of the top 13 players in the class. Unbelievable! It looks like year in and year out UK will be on the list of most of the top players in the country. As a season ticket holder for the past 5 years and a UK graduate who while in school was disappointed when we didn’t make the championship game, 1996-2000, you don’t know how good it feels. Here’s to UK hoisting another Championship banner hopefully very soon!

Wall down to 2 with UK as a slight leader?

May 12, 2009

Say it’s true please! I’m ready for the John Wall saga to be over. According to ZAGSBLOG, Wall has narrowed his list down to UK and Miami with UK in a slight lead. This is not from Wall himself but from Adam Zagoria’s sources. We can only hope this to be true, but if I were to put money on it I would guess that he comes out and shoots it down. We shall see…
